Rules & Regulations
Adventist Health White Memorial (AHWM) is committed to providing a safe, comfortable, caring environment for all patients and families conducive to healing and recovery. Please respect the rules and regulations of the medical center and follow directions from the staff or security personnel. Please be respectful of others' personal property and be considerate to all patients, visitors, family and staff. By minimizing noise and other unnecessary distractions, you can help us maintain a pleasant atmosphere for all.
No Smoking Policy
To protect and promote the health and safety of patients, visitors, employees, and staff, smoking is not permitted within the AHWM buildings, including medical center lounges, waiting rooms, restrooms, stairwells, balconies, or roof tops. Additionally, AHWM and all its surrounding properties (including residences, medical office buildings and parking lots) is a 100% smoke-free campus. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on medical center property. Sidewalks are considered public property and remain exempt. Thank you for supporting our efforts to create a healthier hospital environment.
Personal Belongings
AHWM is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for you and your belongings. However, we do not assume responsibility for valuables kept by you. AHWM is not responsible for any lost or stolen belongings while you are on the medical center’s property. We discourage you from bringing expensive jewelry, handheld games, PDAs, and other valuables into the medical center.
Electrical Appliances
AHWM is committed to providing a safe environment for our patients. For this reason, we discourage the use of personal appliances. Please do not bring hair dryers, curling irons, radios and clocks to the medical center, if at all possible. If you do bring any household electrical appliances, please check with your nurse before using them.
Language Services
If you need translation services or services for the hearing impaired, please call extension 1282.
Discharge Information
When you are well enough to leave the medical center, you will be informed of an estimated discharge time. You will need to make your own arrangements for transportation. If you need resources regarding transportation, please inform your nurse or case manager prior to the day of discharge, if possible.
Privacy Practice / Patient Confidentiality
Confidentiality of our patients' medical information is very important at AHWM. You can be assured that we will keep your medical information private. Upon admission, you were given a copy of our Notice of Privacy Practices, which describes what we do with your personal information.
You may request an additional measure of confidentiality. If you prefer that your presence in the medical center not be released to people who ask for you by name, you may ask us to delete your name from the daily hospital directory. You may request that your name be deleted from the directory by notifying Admissions or by speaking with your nurse. Unless you ask us to remove your name from the directory, the following information will be released: name, age, city of residence, general description of your illness and your current condition. Of course, no information will be given out regarding patients staying in our Behavioral Medicine units.
