Celebrating Exceptional Care: Adventist Health Rideout Foundation Honors Shaye Wilson through the Guardian Angel Grateful Patient Program
Oct 17, 2024
Recently, the Adventist Health Rideout Foundation recognized registered nurse Shaye Wilson for her exceptional care and compassion as part of the Guardian Angel Grateful Patient Program. This honor is a testament to the compassionate care Adventist Health and Rideout strives to provide, and it’s made even more meaningful because it comes from one of our own: Martha Eubanks.
Martha, a dedicated nurse, experienced firsthand the care and support that our team provides. In a heartfelt gesture of gratitude, she made a gift to the Guardian Angel program to celebrate the exceptional care she received during her recent stay. Reflecting on her experience, Martha shared her thoughts on the care led by Shaye Wilson.
“As a nurse, I was initially trying to provide my own care and minimize the need for the team to check on me. But Shaye Wilson led the team in making me feel so cared for,” Martha said. “My positive experience started in pre-op and continued throughout my stay. At a time when I could have felt very alone, I felt surrounded by love and warmth.”
Martha added that her care team even gifted her a box of chocolates as she was being discharged. She said the gesture made her feel like her caregivers truly cared about her recovery.
“I am so thankful,” Marth said, “and, while everyone on the team was amazing, Shaye seemed to be the ringleader of the efforts to make my experience nothing but positive.”
Martha’s words capture the essence of the compassionate care that Shaye and the entire Adventist Health and Rideout team provide. We are grateful to recognize Shaye Wilson today, knowing that her dedication and leadership left such a lasting impact on a fellow healthcare professional.
Please join us in celebrating Shaye and all those who go above and beyond to make our patients feel cared for and supported in their recovery.
