Richard Vieten PT, MPT, Cert, SMT
Originally from Redlands, California, Richard Vieten completed his Master of Physical Therapy at Loma Linda University in Southern California before moving to Tillamook with his wife, Kim Vieten, also a physical therapist. With more than 20 years of experience with Adventist Health, Richard enjoys working with a variety of postoperative and orthopedic conditions such as complex shoulder pathologies.
He also works with headaches that originate in neck pain and is certified in spinal manipulation. In his free time, Richard enjoys fishing, farming, motorcycling, playing music, and being with his wife and kids.
Karen Walz PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT
Karen grew up in the San Francisco bay area and moved to Central OR over 30 yr ago. She relocated to Tillamook during summer of 2017 to enjoy the outdoors of the coast. She completed her entry level Masters in Physical Therapy from the Stanford University school of medicine and her clinical doctorate from University of Montana. She completed a clinical residency program in use of Real-time Ultrasound for elite athletes, is a orthopedic certified specialist through APTA and completed an orthopedic manual therapy fellowship program through NAIOMT.
She is on faculty with NAIOMT (North American Institute of Manual Physical Therapy) as a clinical instructor and examiner. She has been active in nationwide professional organizations including Past-President of Oregon PT Association. She specializes in outpatient orthopedic disorders and pelvic health patients, providing integrative care. She spends her spare time with her family hiking, backpacking, fishing, playing tennis or enjoying beach walks.
Jonathan Jackson PT, DPT
Jonathan Jackson was born and raised in Oregon, especially in Pendleton. He grew up in Pendleton Oregon area. He enjoys mission work and has spent periods of time working in El Salvador and Honduras. After his undergraduate studies at Southern Adventist University in Tennessee, Dr. Jackson finished his graduate physical therapy degree at Loma Linda University in Southern California. His professional interests include manual therapy, vestibular disorders, balance, shoulder rehab and instrument aided soft tissue mobilization (IASTM).
Outside of work you’ll find Dr. Jackson rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, camping, backpacking, running and working out. He also enjoys mission work, gymnastics and travel, especially international travel.
Casey Jackson PT, DPT
Originally from Idaho, Casey has lived all over the Pacific Northwest. She completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Loma Linda University in southern California. She moved to the Oregon Coast shortly after and has been loving it since. She enjoys treating orthopedic conditions as well as specializing in treating pelvic health condition for men and women including urinary incontinence, pre- and postnatal care.
Outside of work Dr. Jackson enjoys spending time with her husband, who is also a physical therapist. They enjoy rock climbing, hiking, camping, walking on the beach and mushroom hunting. They enjoy cooking up delicious homemade vegan and vegetarian meals. Her hands-down favorite food is toast.
Brandy Jacob PT, DPT
Brandy Jacob has lived in Pacific Northwest since her family moved to Tillamook when she was in grade school. Prior to becoming a physical therapist, she worked in the region as a licensed massage therapist for 10 years and spent several years at TRMC as an aid for the rehab department. She received her undergraduate degree from Portland State University in Public Health and returned to AHTM as a Physical Therapist after completing her Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Pacific University.
Dr. Jacob enjoys working with high school and recreational athletes and anyone else anxious to get back to the athletic life after sustaining an orthopedic injury. She is also interested in pre- and post-natal therapy and serves as one of the hospital’s aquatic therapists working with patients in the pool. While travel will always be an important part of her life, she hopes to always live in the Pacific Northwest, due in large part to the many outdoor activities that she enjoys here including hiking, jogging, surfing, kayaking, SUP and spending time at the beach with her husband.
Brandan Lym PT, DPT
Brandan and his family have been in the Pacific Northwest since 2014 when they were drawn in by all the area has to offer. He received his bachelor's degree in exercise physiology from Brigham Young University – Idaho in 2011 and his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2014 from Iowa’s Des Moines University. Dr. Lym's special interests include running assessments and treating the spine and extremities and their conditions.
In his free time, he enjoys being active and going on adventures with his wife and three children.
Kim Vieten PT, DPTSc
Kimberley Vieten grew up in the small town of Willits, California. After receiving her master’s degree and doctorate in physical therapy from Loma Linda University in Southern California, Dr. Vieten moved to Tillamook and began her work as a home health physical therapist. She now works with patients with a variety of issues. She has particular interest in orthopedics, joint replacement, shoulder pathology, breast cancer post-treatment physical therapy and general reconditioning. She has worked for Adventist Health for more than 20 years.
When she’s not busy with patients, Dr. Vieten enjoys spending time with her husband (also a physical therapist), two daughters, horses and dogs. You’ll also find her hiking and enjoying the general recreational activities Tillamook offers.
Hayley Oldenkamp PT, DPT
Oklahoma native, Hayley Oldenkamp moved to Tillamook in January 2016. She completed her bachelor's degree in Health Education and Promotion from Oklahoma State University and received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in San Diego, California.
Dr. Oldenkamp sees a wide variety of patients and focuses on pediatrics, sports and orthopedic conditions. Her professional interests include developmental disorders in ages 18 and under, post-surgical orthopedic conditions and the sports injuries related to the high school athlete. She is certified in the Functional Movement Systems (FMS) and The Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband on their family farm, staying active, and teaching tumbling at a local dance studio.
Shannon Lesnevich PT, DPT
Shannon, originally from Montclair, New Jersey, has been living out West the past 22 years, with the last 4 years on the Oregon Coast. Since graduating from the University of Utah in 2006, Dr. Lesnevich has worked in both orthopedic inpatient and outpatient settings of The University of Utah Hospital, The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital both of Salt Lake City, UT and at Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital in Lincoln City, OR. She has taken special interest in spine rehabilitation utilizing her Polestar certification in Pilates for Rehabilitation.
When not busy with patients, she enjoys spending time with her 2 children, walking on the beach with her significant other and their dog, fishing, yoga and home making. She is passionate about teaching, and motivating others to exercise, and hopes to attain her Yoga Instructor certification by 2022.
Robert Lyons PTA
Born in Texas, Robert Lyons spent the majority of his younger years in the Astoria area. He received his applied science degree from Mount Hood Community College and has spent dozens of years specializing in orthopedics. He has more 20 years of orthopedic sports medicine experience from serving as a golf conditioning specialist for the PGA.
In addition, Robert has worked with several Olympic athletes training for track and field, gymnastics, downhill skiing, and other sports. Since moving to Tillamook in 2008, he has primarily worked with sports and orthopedic conditions for patients of all ages. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Melissa Mitchell PTA
Melissa Mitchell was raised in Tillamook county. She completed her Associate of Applied Science in physical therapy at Mount Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon. She has been practicing for more than 20 years in a variety of settings including skilled nursing facilities, home health, assisted living, and hospital inpatient and outpatient settings. She is very experienced in working with geriatrics, neurology, community education and bariatric patients. Melissa enjoys gardening, DIY projects, and spending time with her family.
