BE Award Recipient:Christopher Tiran
Department:Security
Submitted by:Eileen Retutal
BE Statement:Be a Force for Good
Christopher has always been very cordial with everyone. He exudes a love for his job and care for his fellow human beings. He is always cheerful and very respectful of the people around him. Two incidents that really exemplified his compassion was when we had to call for assistance for two patients. One was threatening staff and the other one, unfortunately had already twisted a nurse aide's right wrist. For the first patient, he was able to de-escalate the confused patient by talking to him with the little bit of Spanish that he knows. Patient agreed to take his medication without any further untoward incident with staff.
For the second patient (both incidents happened within minutes of each other), Christopher was also able to talk the confused patient down, even doing a little dance to distract the patient (he made patient laugh, actually). Nursing staff was able to give medication to calm patient down. Christopher apologized to the nurse aide for not being there sooner because he was with another patient in the same unit. Christopher went above and beyond his duties to make sure staff are safe against patients escalating into a violent behavior. Christopher is a valuable member of the AHRO team. Thank you, for all you do!
BE Award Recipient:Debbie Mireles
Department:Administration
Submitted by:Jessica McClain
BE Statement:Be a Mission Owner
Where do I begin?! Debbie is the epitome of a mission owner and "team player"! She will more than likely not approve of receiving this award if chosen but she 100% deserves it! I was brand new to The Foundation department back in November and she was volunteered to help me learn the "assistant ways" as I was brand new to the position. She has always quickly and effectively helped me out as much as possible with all my questions and if she did not have the answer, which was rare, she would suggest the best person to contact. She always has a ton of her own assignments to take care of daily however, she always makes time to help me learn something new so that I am successful in my department. I would say the biggest item she helped me out with so far would be when I received the tax receipt statements for anyone that donated to the Foundation last year or attended an event that was associated with the Foundation. I was emailed over 370 pages that needed to be printed and mailed off in the next 7 business days. Debbie went out of her way, while still having her own tasks to work on, to type out every single donor's address onto an envelope for printing along with helping me stuff envelopes to get the documents post marked by January 31st. And now you know a small percentage of why she deserves this award!
BE Award Recipient:Patricia Cowan
Department:Urgent Care
Nominated by:Michelle Martinez
BE Statement:Be a Force for Good
I would like to recognize Patty for all her hard work at the front desk at the urgent care clinic. Her co-workers want to recognize her for always keeping her cool, patience, actively listening, and remaining welcoming to the patients with a smile on her face. Patricia is a model associate when performing AIDET. The staff at urgent care as well as myself are extremely happy to have Patty as part of our urgent care team! Way to go Patty!
BE Award Recipient:Sandra Rackley
Department:Home Health
Submitted by:Susan Butler
BE Statement: Be a Mission Owner
Sandy consistently goes above and beyond to meet the needs of our patients. In this specific incidence she was willing to add to her fully booked schedule to get a stat lab and procedure done for a patient in need. Sandy’s ownership of our mission allowed the patient to receive assessment and treatment before close of business for the weekend.
