The BE award recognizes associates who exemplify Adventist Health "BE" statements (Be Love, Be a Force for Food, Be a Mission Owner, Be Welcoming, Be Curious, Be Brilliant). All Adventist Health and Rideout associates at the hospital, outpatient clinics and skilled nursing facility are eligible for nomination.
Here are the BE Award recipients for February 2024:
BE Award:Sarah Sharp
Nominated by:Cassie Alvarez
BE Statement:Be Brilliant
If you google the word brilliant, there are multiple definitions to choose from - very bright and radiant; exceptionally clever or talented; very good, excellent, or marvelous. Sarah is every, single definition of BRILLIANT.
Sarah’s role at Rideout is unique and very important. She leads our Pathway to Excellence, consistently promotes wellness and is a go-to person for so many departments and associates. In addition to ALL that work, she is also leading our efforts to our hospital. Sarah works so hard for this organization and does so with the most grace. She is SO deserving of a Be Award. We are so lucky to have her.
BE Award:Lisa Reynolds, Cardiology
Nominated by:Jazmine Swift
BE Statement:Be a Force for Good
Lisa is always helping everyone who needs it. One day she'll be helping in Cardiology, the next she'll be helping in Primary Care. She's always willing to go wherever we need her and is willing to learn anything and always has a smile on her face about it. She's such a positive light in any department she's in.
BE Award:Jatinder (JT) Sohal, Respiratory Therapy
Nominated by:Pam Basra
BE Statement:Be a Force for Good
I would like to nominate JT for his outstanding leadership as the Charge Nurse. When JT is in charge, the team knows they can count on him. This past weekend, despite multiple sick calls that left the team short-staffed, JT not only managed a full workload but also went above and beyond to assist the team with deliveries in L&D, CT trips, TEE, calls to PACU, and fulfilled all the assigned charge duties.
JT’s exemplary example of being a force for good was evident as he recognized the potential impact of heavy assignments on the team. In response, he stepped in and took on additional workload, creating a positive environment where everyone in the team stepped up and supported each other.
I am truly grateful for your positive attitude and professionalism, both of which significantly contributed to the team's success. Your team has commended you for the excellent job you did. Your leadership is highly valued, and I want to express my heartfelt thanks for your hard work and commitment.
BE Award:Dr. Richard Brouette
Nominated by:Romi Uppal
BE Statement:Be Love
Dr. Brouette has provided care for his patients at Rideout for the past 25 + years. He is very compassionate and is always willing to assist the hospital in any way possible. No matter how busy he is, he always makes time to help and care for our patients. I have seen Dr. Brouette pull up a chair and sit next to the patient and get to know them. He would spend as long as it took, even if it was an hour or more, getting to know them so he can treat them in the best possible way. He is a Mission Owner.
Dr. Brouette truly has so much love for being a physician and caring for our patients and our community. He has a big heart and cares deeply for his patients and makes sure they get the best possible care. Most of our complex patients don't have families to assist them. They only have us the hospital staff to get them through their difficult times. He inspires health, wholeness and hope for them.
Dr. Brouette is Brilliant, an amazing human being, and truly a compassionate physician. Honestly, I don't know anyone who deserves this award more. Thank You Dr. Brouette for always providing exceptional care to our patients and the community. Thank you for all your years of service at Rideout Hospital.
