Nutritional Care
Helping you make healthy nutritional choices
At Adventist Health Sonora, our dietitians work in the treatment and prevention of disease using medical nutrition therapy (MNT). Individuals with a variety of conditions can benefit from MNT. Dietitians assist individuals in making behavioral and lifestyle changes that may impact long-term eating habits and health.
Medical nutrition therapy includes:
- Nutrition assessments to determine your health risk as it relates to nutritional factors
- Planning and implementing nutritional intervention that will benefit your health
- Monitoring and evaluating your progress over a period of time
We offer a monthly Adult Diabetes Support Group, a quarterly Celiac Support Group, a quarterly Parents for Children With Type I Diabetes Support Group and monthly Diabetes Management classes.
If you are interested in MNT or diabetes management classes, you should ask your physician if a referral is appropriate. Patients are seen at the Live Well Be Well Center, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
