Virtual visits

Coronavirus, illness, specialist and routine exams from home

Your health has never been more important. Virtual visits can help. Using your computer, phone or tablet, you can get primary, specialist and urgent care right in the comfort of your own home.

You canbook a video visit online. Or you cancall your Adventist Health clinic. Our staff are happy to help you schedule your appointment and answer all your questions.

How virtual visits work

You can visit with your provider using a phone, tablet or computer while staying safely at home.

During your visit, your doctor can:

  • Manage your chronic conditions
  • Evaluate illness symptoms
  • Review and prescribe medication
  • Provide follow-up care

Your virtual visit is billed to your insurance the same as a clinic visit. You don’t have to worry about extra charges for this convenient and quick option for seeing your doctor or nurse practitioner.

Getting ready for your virtual visit

When you schedule your visit, our staff will help you decide what type of video or phone appointment works the best for you. We can hold our visits using several popular video technologies and will discuss with you what option works best.

Before your visit

Before your visit, one of our friendly staff members will contact you and help you determine how to best handle your technology. If you have a smartphone, a tablet, a laptop, or a computer with a camera, we can help you get ready for a video visit. If not, don’t worry-we can often do an audio-only visit as well.

On the day of your visit

If you have been gathering information such as blood pressure, weight, what you’re eating and drinking, and previous imaging and test results it’s a good idea to gather and share with your doctor. It may be helpful to have your pill bottles close by during your visit.

On the day of your visit, please follow the instructions that our staff provided ahead of time. We have had great success with these visits so don’t be intimidated. We will help you along the way.

After your visit

During your visit, you and your provider will determine when you need a follow up visit. If your follow up visit needs to be done in-person, or if you need to consult a specialist, we will work with you to make sure these appointments are scheduled.

Please note that a virtual visit or provider consultation is required prior to receiving a COVID-19 test. Please let staff know in advance if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or have direct exposure to someone who has tested positive.
