Sports injury treatment at Adventist Health
At Adventist Health we know that sports and activities are an important part of many people’s lives. Our multidisciplinary approach helps you heal from sports injuries and get back to doing the things you love.
Our sports medicine specialists use the most advanced diagnostic technology to quickly assess your injury. We present you with all your treatment options and work with you to choose the best way to get you moving again.
Caring for a sports injury doesn’t always require surgery. Whenever possible, we use noninvasive treatments to get you back in the game as soon as possible.
Depending on your diagnosis, your doctor may prescribe nonsurgical treatments such as:
- Joint fluid therapy: Injections that lubricate the joint and stimulate the body’s ability to produce its own joint fluid and relieve pain.
- Orthopedicrehabilitation: This includes physical therapy and occupational therapy, as well as other treatments.
- Bracing: A brace can stabilize an injured joint to promote proper healing.
- Pain and anti-inflammatory medications: We can provide oral or injectable pain medication.
- Rest/ice/compression/elevation:Also called RICE, this simple at-home treatment can reduce inflammation and pain.
- Alternative treatments: Chiropractic care or acupuncture can be used to alleviate pain.
If surgery is the answer, you’re in the best hands. The orthopedic surgeons at Adventist Health are experts in the latest advancements in sports medicine. We use minimally invasive techniques whenever possible to help you recover faster.
