The Yuba-Sutter region is centrally located in beautiful Northern California. Known as the “Gateway to the Goldfields,” the area offers a rare mix of Gold Rush-era communities, historic downtown shopping and agricultural assets complementing year-round festivals and fairs.

Yuba-Sutter is just a 40-minute drive to Sacramento, a two-hour drive over the magnificent Sierra Nevada to Lake Tahoe and Reno, and 2.5 hours from San Francisco. Accessible via Hwy 20, Hwy 99, Hwy 70 and Hwy 65. The Sacramento International Airport is only 40 minutes south.

The region enjoys many natural and physical assets including attractive climate, level terrain, good highway and rail transportation and more. Our lakes, rivers, mountains and three National Forests will stimulate your senses and satisfy your hiking, camping, boating, hunting and fishing interests.

Yuba County population is 71,612 and Sutter County population is 95,516. Most residents live in the two counties’ four incorporated cities of Yuba City, Marysville, Live Oak and Wheatland, while others can be found in smaller foothill towns like Brownsville, Oregon House and Challenge.

Historic Marysville

The city of Marysville is an historical treasure that you will enjoy exploring. Historic Downtown Marysville is an easy walking tour of the city’s past and includes numerous shops and restaurants, coffeehouse, artists’ cooperative gallery, museum and a homemade candy store all in the D Street area. Also in the heart of Marysville is the spacious County Library and the now-restored Bok Kai Temple, built in the city’s Chinatown in 1888.

Marysville is the county seat of Yuba County. The population within the city limits is 12,072.

Eclectic Yuba City

Yuba City’s unique location benefits both businesses and residents, and offers a quality, family-oriented lifestyle. The Feather River borders the City to the east (with Marysville just over the two bridges), while its western horizon is dominated by the Sutter Buttes, popularly believed to be the smallest mountain range in
the world.

Yuba City has developed through the years as a pleasant, residential community that is also the commercial center for the surrounding area, home to national chain stores and restaurants. Cultural resources include a history museum, movie and stage theaters and a variety of performing arts groups.

Yuba City is the county seat of Sutter County. The population within the city limits is 63,338.
