ER Support Services and Amenities
You and your family are more than just an injury, illness or condition. In addition to all the valuable clinical services that are part of your ER visit, we also offer support services and amenities to things easier for you.

Case Management
Our case management teams work with you, your family and your doctors to make sure you get the care you need after you leave the ER. This may include:
- Finding you a ride home.
- Making sure you have a place to go where you can recover well.
- Helping you find a clinical setting for your recovery if supervised care is needed.
- Coordinating your follow-up care like visiting yourprimary caredoctor, getting scheduled forrehab serviceslike physical and occupational therapy, and helping you access social services when needed.
Chaplain and spiritual care
Our commitment to your whole-person care sets Adventist Health Portland’s emergency room apart. We care passionately about your mind and spirit, as well as your body.

Food and drink
Please don't eating or drinking before we evaluate you. Some tests and treatments have to be delayed if you eat or drink.
If your friend or loved one needs something, there isfood on campus and nearby.
Restroom
Depending on your symptoms, we may need to collect a urine or stool sample to test. Because of that, please check with the ER staff before you use the restroom. The staff can also point your visitors to the nearest restrooms.
Smoking and latex
For the health and comfort of all our patients and visitors, Adventist Health maintains a smoke-free environment. Also, to protect people with latex allergies, latex balloons are not allowed.
Visitors and privacy
Each patient's comfort and privacy are important. That’s why we limit how many visitors are allowed in our emergency treatment area.
Sometimes we also must restrict visitors depending on your condition and treatment. We typically can provide phone and videoconferencing options to help you stay connected when it’s safe to do so.
