Expectations and requirements for our team

COVID-19 vaccinations

Adventist Health Portland recognizes its responsibility to take reasonable steps designed to provide associates a workplace free of recognized hazards. Among our policies are requirements for masking and COVID-19 vaccination.

All Adventist Health Portland health care personnel must receive the COVID-19 vaccine series as appropriate by manufacturer or obtain an approved exception and accommodation to this requirement for a medical or religious reason. Failure to do so will deem the associate has voluntarily resigned.

Masking requirements will be dictated by current hospital, local, state or federal guidelines. At a minimum, any unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated personnel will be required to wear a face covering while in an Adventist Health Portland facility. Additional surveillance testing may be required.

Diversity, equity and inclusion

Adventist Health Portland's mission drives our passion for providing an inclusive environment and love toward anyone who enters our doors or interacts with our associates. We promote equal care and wellness to everyone and strive to exhibit God's nondiscriminatory love and healing.

‘Being Adventist Health’

To live our mission, we challenge one another to live according to a set of six values, each rooted in our mission. We call these values “Being Adventist Health.”

Be love.

Love matters. Treat yourself with love and care so that you are free to love and care for others. Be trustworthy, forgive freely and find common ground.

Be a force for good.

Be courageous. Take action. Whether it is through your position or your passion, work to impact your community for the better.

Be a mission owner.

Own your role, find your talent, and know that your contribution is mission-critical. Ask yourself, “How do I inspire health, wholeness, and hope?”

Be welcoming.

Recognize all people are created equal and embrace them in hospitality as you would a cherished friend.

Be curious.

Seek to understand how things work and why. Innovate and be open to new ideas and approaches. Own your mistakes and learn from them.

Be brilliant.

Leverage your best talents and skills to shine. Make promises and keep them. Always expect the same from others. Every story we share is through these values.
