DAISY Recipient:Prabhjot Gill
Department:3 West
Nominated by:Esther Thomas
Esther Thomas:“'For he's a jolly good fellow, for he's a jolly good fellow, that nobody can deny.' I want to write about an excellent RN that works on 3 West. Prabhjot is always available to assist and support the unit, answering call lights is a common deed. He greets us early in the morning with a smile and a comment that brings joy to your heart. His vivacious spirit is contagious, and you know your day will be blessed with him on your team. He looks for ways to make the whole unit flow as a well-oiled machine. His leadership qualities are seen over and over again. He can teach others, fix computers, give a helping hand for minor tasks, and never leaves a sour taste in one's spirit. His ability to arbitrate with others in Punjabi or English is appreciated. He advocates for Adventist Health and patients' health and well-being. He is humble, yet very wise. His confidence oozes with peace. I look forward to working for and with Prabhjot. He is essential to our unit. I highly recommend him for a Daisy Award!”
DAISY Recipient:Karisa Whitley
Department:3 West
Nominated by:Patient
Patient:“I am 22 years old and was a patient for almost two weeks at the hospital. I was very emotional, confused, scared, and anxious about the pancreatitis I had. It was very painful and very irritating to have that pain. Through all that pain and suffering, Karisa was always there for me and all her other patients. Karisa always made me smile and laugh no matter the pain I was going through. She would always make sure I got my medicine and would always offer things to comfort me such as heat pads, ice packs and blankets. She became a huge part of my successful recovery; she gave me motivation and I always looked forward to seeing her. Her knowledge, skills, professionalism, and her willingness to help everyone is incredible. She always does it with a positive attitude and always goes above and beyond, thank you Karisa for being an awesome nurse, and human being!”
