We are proud to have installed a new Mamava pod which offers a private space for breastfeeding or pumping on our Adventist Health Portland campus.

“Having a Mamava pod on campus removes the stress of finding a private place to nurse,” says Diana Erdmann, patient experience officer. “Providing a dedicated space for breastfeeding mothers is an important part of family-centered care in the community we serve.”

Using the Mamava pod is easy; access is granted using the Mamava app, available your phone’s app store. In the app, search for “Adventist Health Portland” or use your phone’s location services to pull up the closest pod. On the pod’s page, you can unlock it with a one-time access code or join a waitlist if someone is already using it.

Patients and visitors can access the Mamava pod on the lower level of our medical pavilion. Questions about the pod can be directed toward our information desk while on campus.

Mamava is transforming the culture of breastfeeding by making it easier for more moms to pump or nurse at work and on the go. Mamava lactation pods are freestanding spaces intentionally designed with easy-to-clean surfaces and conveniently placed outlets to provide a comfortable and private option to breastfeed or pump.

“We’re thrilled to support breastfeeding at Adventist Health,” said Sascha Mayer, cofounder of Mamava. “We believe that all breastfeeding parents deserve a dignified place to breast pump or feed a baby distraction-free — anywhere, anytime. Adventist Health is helping normalize breastfeeding and increasing equitable access to lactation support for the next generation.”
