Fellowship Honors Superior Professional Achievement in GI Field

James Tabibian, MD, PhD, has been named a Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the nation's oldest and most prestigious medical society dedicated to disorders of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract.
The AGA honors superior professional achievement in clinical private or academic practice and basic or clinical research through its fellowship program. Fellowships are awarded to AGA members whose accomplishments and contributions demonstrate personal commitment to gastroenterology.
"It is an honor to receive this fellowship alongside so many distinguished GI leaders and experts around the globe," expressed Dr. Tabibian. "Alleviating digestive diseases and advancing treatments to help my patients is what I built my practice upon. I am thrilled to see that my efforts, and those of my colleagues, are appreciated by the AGA."
Dr. Tabibian leads the Interventional Gastroenterology Program at Adventist Health Glendale. He focuses on delivering high-quality endoscopic procedures, from screening colonoscopy to advanced procedures such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and luminal stenting.
His clinical and research interests are in advanced and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy and training the next generation of technically- and culturally competent gastroenterologists.

Dr. Tabibian is highly published in biomedical literature, has been awarded extramural grants, is a certified expert medical reviewer for the Medical Board of California, and holds numerous editorial positions. In January 2024, he was also named one of theTop LA Doctors of 2024by the Los Angeles Business Journal.
