Updated hospital visitor policy

Our hospital visitor policy has been updated to create a patient and family-centered healing environment. We ask that all visitors adhere to Adventist Health Lodi Memorial's policies and procedures for the safety and security of patients, staff, and other visitors. Effective April 15, 2024:

Masking

Masking is optional for patients and visitors, but continues to be strongly recommended in all patient care areas.

• Masks will be available at our main entrances for anyone who wants one.
• If a patient is in isolation, visitors will be required to comply with isolation procedures or have their visiting privileges revoked.
• Individuals who are considered high risk (or live with some who is) should continue to mask when indoors and in high risk environments such as health care facilities.

Visiting Hours

General visiting hours are 24 hours daily for guests visiting patients in the hospital.

• Visitor Access:
  • Hospital Main Entrance: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Emergency Room Entrance: 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.

• Visitors must stop at the entrance desk to register and be issued a visitor day pass to wear during their visit.
• Each patient is allowed two visitors in their room at a time (non-COVID). All other visitors must wait in designated waiting and family areas or the hospital cafe.
• Emergency Room: Open 24 hours and patients are allowed two visitors.
• Children under 14 years of age are not allowed. Individual exceptions may be approved by nursing leadership.

Special Situations

• In the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Obstetrics (OB), the patient care staff will determine visitation opportunities based on each patient’s unique situation during their stay with us.
• Surgery patients: Allowed one visitor for pre-op and post-op appointments. Must be the same visitor for both appointments. The visitor may wait in the hospital in designated waiting areas during the procedure.

COVID-19 Patients

• COVID positive patients: one visitor at a time, no more than two visitors per day.
• COVID patient visitor PPE: Gown, N-95 or surgical mask, eye protection and gloves required. If visitor opts for N-95, staff will teach visitor how to perform seal check.
• Visitation for COVID positive patients may be limited or restricted due to infection control risks (i.e., COVID patient undergoing aerosol-generating procedure, visitors not adhering to PPE or infection prevention practices, ongoing outbreak).

All Visitors

Do not enter the hospital if you have any of the following:

• Confirmed COVID-19 infection
• Close contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 10 days
• Any of the following COVID-19 symptoms:
• • Fever or chills
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Shortness of breath
  • Runny nose
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Diarrhea
  • Headache

We are asking everyone to use their best judgement in these situations to reduce the risk of infectious disease transmission to our team and patients.
