Genetic Screening for Cancer

Do you have a personal or family history of cancer? You can request a Myriad MyRisk genetic screening at Adventist Health Hanford’s Breast Care Center. Using a saliva test, we can check for markers for cancers of the breast, colon, ovaries, pancreas and other areas. Testing can lead to earlier detection and prevention, including MRI surveillance and potentially hormone-blocker prevention.

To qualify for the screening, you must complete a form to see if they meet criteria. The screening is covered by most insurance plans. Results will take three to four weeks. When they arrive, a Breast Care Center representative discusses the results with your physician or primary care provider.
