Visitor Information

Planning your hospital visit

You heal better and faster when you’re surrounded by loved ones. That’s why we welcome your visitors in most of our hospital units.

Visiting hours

Some units have more restrictions about when visitors are welcome. You may have special requirements as well, depending on your condition and treatment plan. In general, it’s best to have visitors before 8 p.m. when the main hospital entrance is open and before quiet hours begin. After hours, visitors must enter through the emergency department entrance.

Atrium Cafe

The Atrium Cafe offers a variety of hot foods plus grab-and-go meals and snacks. The cafe is open to patients, visitors and staff daily, 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Gift Shop

Our Gift Shop offers a wide array of flowers, stuffed animals, greeting cards, jewelry, candy and other gift items for patients and visitors of all ages. A little gift can mean so much to someone in the hospital and is a thoughtful way to show how much you care.

The Gift Shop is staffed by volunteers, so hours may vary. We are typically open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All proceeds are donated back to the hospital to support patient care services.

We take phone orders during business hours and can deliver gifts within the hospital, although flowers are not allowed in the intensive care unit. We accept all major credit cards. Just call 541-296-7265.

Tips for visitors

To make sure all of our patients enjoy a calm and healing environment, we ask visitors to:

  • Keep their voices low and follow the best visiting times for your unit and treatment plan.
  • Wash their hands with soap and water each time they visit.
  • Stay home if they feel ill or have symptoms like fever, cough, sniffles and sore throat.
  • Avoid perfume, cologne and scented lotion to minimize impacts on sensitive patients.
  • Cheerfully follow your care team’s directions, which are focused on helping you recovery well and quickly.

Visitor restrictions

Our rules for visiting or accompanying patients at Adventist Health Columbia Gorge fall into two categories: visitor and support persons. Support persons and visitors need to check in at the front entrance or emergency department entrance to obtain a visitor sticker. When approaching the patient’s room, check in at the nurses’ station. Be sure to wash your hands when entering and exiting the patient’s room.

Support persons

  • Caregiver or attendant of a patient who needs assistance due to a language barrier or the patient’s disability, whose presence will assist the person with the disability in receiving treatment, ensure the safety of the patient or facility staff, or assist with activities of daily living.
  • Parent or guardian of a hospitalized child.
  • Person supporting a patient in labor and delivery.
  • Person accompanying a same-day surgery patient, a person who needs teaching to provide care to the patient, or any person at the physician’s request.

Visitors

  • Any individual who does not meet the criteria of a support person.
  • Visitors may be restricted for patients with communicable diseases, such as COVID. Phone or video visits can be arranged.

We ask that you please refrain from visiting if you:
