Community Benefit
Responding to the needs of our community
We believe a healthy community goes beyond the walls of our hospital.
That’s why Adventist Health Columbia Gorge has a long history of community engagement in The Dalles and surrounding areas. By building partnerships with community groups, healthcare organizations, civic leaders and our local residents, we can better understand and respond to the needs of our community.
A spirit of collaboration
The organizations listed below joined together to create the first integrated Columbia Gorge Regional Community Health Assessment. Together, we have been able to combine social and economic conditions with key healthcare information to build a prioritized set of needs for the region and identify unique needs in specific locations or populations.
- Columbia Gorge Health Council
- Hood River County Health Department
- Klickitat Valley Health
- Klickitat Valley Health Department
- Mid-Columbia Center for Living
- Adventist Health Columbia Gorge
- North Central Public Health District

- PacificSource Community Solutions
- Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital

Our collaborative work and, more importantly, our harmonized voice sharing the highest overall needs for our region are reflected in the Columbia Gorge Regional Health Assessment.
In response to these identified needs, Adventist Health Columbia Gorge has developed a Community Benefit Report and Health Improvement Plan. We have also established 2023–2025 Key Community Benefit Initiatives.
