Colleen Assavapisitkul, MSN, RN, CENP, HACP

President, Adventist Health Clear Lake

Colleen Assavapisitkul was appointed to Vice President of Patient Care in 2016. In the role, she provides vision and administrative accountability in the areas of clinical quality and patient experience. Assavapisitkul’s leadership at Adventist Health Clear Lake began in 2011 when she joined the organization as Director of Quality/Infection Control. She served as Administrative Director of Patient Care before being promoted to Chief Nursing Officer in 2014. During her time with the hospital, Assavapisitkul was instrumental in opening the new Emergency Department, improving quality scores and building a strong clinical team focused on providing excellent care. Assavapisitkul’s career in healthcare includes broad experience in a number of clinical settings, including service in Hawaii, Oregon, Washington and Bangkok, Thailand. In June 2022, Colleen was appointed President of Adventist Health Clear Lake.

Misty Cantrell, RN, Ph.D., MBA, MSN, NEA-BC

Patient Care Executive, Adventist Health Clear Lake

Misty joined Adventist Health in 2003. She began her role as Patient Care Executive at Adventist Health Clear Lake in September 2022. Prior to her current role, she also served in Kern County as the Chief Operating Officer, Interim President of Adventist Health Tehachapi Valley, Chief Nursing Officer Tehachapi Valley, Associate Vice President of Perioperative Services and Associate Vice President of Network Development.

Misty received her Ph.D. from Walden University in Health Services and has extensive experience in change management, business transformation, operations management, accreditation and credentialing, patient and physician relations and safety management. She has built trusting relationships from the boardroom to bedside, while leading resilient teams through authentic and compassionate leadership.

Evan Bloom, MD, MPH, FACEP

Medical Officer, Adventist Health Clear Lake

Dr. Evan Bloom was appointed to Medical Officer at Adventist Health Clear Lake in June 2021. Dr. Bloom graduated from Cornell University, completed Medical School (MD) at State University of New York Stony Brook, and his residency at the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Additionally, he completed the Humanitarian Studies Initiative for Residents at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, Masters of Public Health in Healthcare Policy and Management at UC Berkeley and his fellowship in Emergency Medical Services and Disaster Medicine at University of California, San Francisco. He has held a number of academic appointments at Harvard Medical School, UCSF School of Medicine and Touro College of Medicine. He has released several publications in the fields of disaster medicine, EMS and prehospital care, emergency medicine and humanitarian studies.

Dr. Bloom held the position of Public Health Officer for the County of Lake in 2021, where he led the County’s COVID-19 response, provided public health programmatic and administrative oversight, and served as the county medical subject matter expert for public health reporting to the County Board of Supervisors. Dr. Bloom has practiced as an emergency physician in a variety of Urban and rural hospitals over the past 17 years, of which the last 8 years have been with the Emergency Department at Adventist Health Clearlake. He also acts as the prehospital care medical director, and founded the UCSF Emergency Medicine Residency’s rotation in rural emergency medicine.

Carlton Jacobson

Finance Officer, Adventist Health Clear Lake

Carlton Jacobson has served as Adventist Health Clear Lake’s Vice President of Finance since 2012. Jacobson was born in Subic Bay, Philippines and grew up in South Lancaster, Mass. Jacobson received a bachelor of science degree in business administration and a bachelor of science degree in computer science at Pacific Union College. Early professional experience includes positions in the accounting and business fields, laboratories, nursing homes and retirement centers. He began his career in hospital finance as Controller with Valley Community Hospital, a 70-bed acute care medical center in Santa Maria, Calif. In 1993, he became Controller with Adventist Health Simi Valley and Health Care Services, a 225-bed acute facility.

In 2000, Jacobson relocated to Northern California, where he assumed the position of Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance with Adventist Health Howard Memorial, a 25-bed critical access medical center in Willits, Calif. During Jacobson’s tenure at AHHM, the medical center quadrupled net revenue, eliminated all debt and set aside $30 million through operations, which enabled a significant down payment for a new medical center (which was completed in November 2015). Jacobson also collaborated with the executive team at AHHM for the successful transition—the first in Adventist Health—to a Critical Access Hospital Medicare designation. In 2012, he was assigned the added responsibility of financial oversight of Adventist Health Clear Lake operations. In 2013, Jacobson assumed the role of Regional CFO for the three medical centers within the St. Helena region. He dedicated sole focus to the Clearlake, Calif., facility and its network of clinics in January 2015.
