This course is taught by Stephanie Capllonch, a certified instructor with The Bradley Method® since 1991. Class is held from 5-7 p.m. HT (8-10 p.m. PT). This course is virtual. It includes an online workbook as well as exclusive student access to the bradleybirth.com website.

What is The Bradley Method?

The Bradley Method®of Natural Childbirth course teaches families how to have natural births. The techniques are simple and effective. They are based on information about how the human body works during labor. Couples are taught how they can work with their bodies to reduce pain and make their labors more efficient.

Classes stress the importance of Healthy Baby, Healthy Mother and Healthy Families. Education includes prenatal nutrition, exercise, being more comfortable during pregnancy, the coach’s role, introductory information about labor and birth, advanced techniques for labor and birth, complications, postpartum care, breastfeeding, and caring for your new baby.

Why is The Bradley Method Unique?

The Bradley Method® is taught in a 12 weekly classes. Classes are kept small up to 8 couples, to allow for individual attention. Coaches face special challenges, and we teach them how to be helpful and aware of her needs during pregnancy as well as labor, and will learn relaxation techniques, and effective labor and birth positions. Your instructor will provide relaxation practice and labor rehearsals. The course is designed to educate and motivate coaches and enable them to be a valuable part of the birth experience.

When do I? The Bradley Method

It is suggested to start classes in your fifth or sixth month of pregnancy.

Class 3: Pregnancy
Class 4: The Coach’s Role
Class 5: Introduction to First Stage Labor
Class 6: Introduction to Second Stage Labor
Class 7: Planning Your Birth
Class 8: Variations and Complications / Postpartum Preparation
Class 9: Advanced First Stage Techniques
Class 10: Advanced Second Stage Techniques
Class 11: Being a Great Coach / Are You Ready?
Class 12: Preparing for Your New Family

Though every class has a specific topic which is covered in detail, each class will also cover nutrition, exercise, positive communication, and coaching. A different relaxation technique will be demonstrated and assigned for practice each week. Classes may also feature a film or video presentation. The course includes a student workbook.
