Putting Passion into Compassion with Pandy Denny, RN
Nov 13, 2024
Each time we celebrate our team for all they do we see so many amazing diamonds that sparkle bright on our team and many times there’s several hidden gems on our team. They shine brightly, do amazing work and each day say, “how best can I help you?” as they turn their passion into compassion, providing exceptional care.
One such wonderful member of our team we have is Pandy Denny, an RN at our Redwood Medical Clinic. Pandy first came to our team as an LVN in 2006. “I wanted to work here because it is my hometown hospital and that gives me so much pride,” Pandy said of signing on to work with our team. Pandy has been with us an incredible 18 years working in the ICU for many of those and more recently in the last couple of years in the Redwood Medical Clinic.
What Pandy loves most about her work aren’t always the easy things in her day to day, but the things that help most and take time and effort to achieve. “What I love most is helping patients solve problems and helping them to feel better. My job is uniquely designed to allow me to do just that every day.”
When we asked Pandy what fuels her motivation its as simple as lending a helping hand. “I love to hear my patient’s say that I really helped them. This gives me motivation knowing I can make a difference for even one patient.”
Experience for our patients is exactly what our work is all about. Providing exceptional care and doing over very best to provide a memorable and good patient experience and one that helps each person to feel seen, heard and helped. One such patient that Pandy remembers touched her in a way like this she will never forget. “I helped a patient after a difficult surgery to coordinate medications and follow up care. We had many phone conversations throughout the process, and we got her taken care of. A couple of weeks later I was having a lab draw of my own when the staff called my name. A woman who was also waiting there asked me, "Are you Pandy from the clinic?" I replied, “yes” and she told me her name and thanked me for my help after she got out of the hospital. I felt like I just made a new friend. These experiences make it personal and so fulfilling to me in the work I do.”
We don’t know what we would do without team members like Pandy, and for that we thank her for all her work turning her passion into compassion helping our patients receive excellent care and being an amazing nurse in our Redwood Medical Clinic.
